Tyres & wheels
Inner-tube replacement — standard wheel
Remove the wheel and tyre, check for the cause of the puncture, fit a replacement tube and refit the wheel. Tube extra.
Assess whether the puncture can be repaired and use a suitable plug or internal patch where appropriate, then check inflation and sealing. Price agreed per tyre before work. Repair materials and sealant extra. Unsafe or unrepairable tyres need replacement; not every puncture can be repaired.
Labour per wheel: fit a compatible replacement and check its security, brake alignment and operation. Wheel extra. Any tyre, cassette or rotor transfer needed is included in the agreed quote before work.
Labour per wheel to correct minor sideways or radial movement by adjusting spoke tension, where the rim and spokes are serviceable. A cracked, badly dented or worn-out rim may need replacement; damaged components and rebuilding are separate.
Replace one damaged spoke and true the affected wheel. Spoke extra. Multiple broken spokes, seized nipples, additional dismantling or a damaged rim are assessed and quoted before work.
Labour for one brake: check pad wear, adjust pad contact or caliper alignment as appropriate, and check clearance and operation. Cable tension is adjusted on cable-operated brakes. Replacement parts, seized mechanisms and hydraulic bleeding are separate.
The adjustment service for both front and rear brakes: check pads, alignment, clearance and operation, adjusting cable tension where applicable. Replacement parts, seized mechanisms and hydraulic bleeding are separate.
External brake or gear cable replacement — per cable, parts extra
For a mechanical brake or gear cable routed along the outside of the frame through accessible guides. From £15 labour per cable: remove the old cable, fit and size the replacement and any agreed external housing, then adjust and test that brake or gear system. Inner cable, housing and fittings are extra. Routing inside the frame, fork, handlebar, stem or headset is quoted as internal work. Hydraulic brake hoses are not included.
Internal brake/gear cable or hydraulic hose fitting — per run
For one cable or hydraulic hose that passes inside the frame, fork, handlebar, stem or headset. We assess access and quote before work; simple frame routing and integrated cockpit routing can take very different amounts of labour. Includes the agreed removal, routing, refitting and adjustment or function check. Cable, housing, hose and fittings are extra. Any handlebar tape, headset or bottom-bracket removal and hydraulic brake bleeding are itemised where required. This quote replaces the external cable-fitting charge for the same cable; the two are not added together.
Rim-brake pad replacement — per brake, parts extra
Remove worn rim-brake pads, inspect the braking surface, fit compatible pads and set their position, clearance and toe-in where appropriate. Check brake operation. Quoted per brake; pads and other replacement parts extra. Disc pads and hydraulic bleeding are separate.
Disc-brake pad fitting and rotor clean — parts extra
Labour for one brake: check pad and rotor condition, fit compatible pads, clean the rotor and check alignment and operation. Pads and replacement rotors extra. Contamination or leaks may need further work; any extra work and pad bedding-in requirements will be explained.
External hydraulic hose replacement or shortening — per brake
For a hydraulic hose routed outside the frame: assess compatibility, shorten or replace the hose and fittings as agreed, secure the routing and check for leaks and correct operation. Quoted per brake. Hose, fittings and any required fluid and bleed are itemised in the quote without duplicate labour charges. Internal routing is quoted under the internal fitting service.
Hydraulic brake bleed — one brake, standard fluid included
For one front OR rear hydraulic brake. Bleed with the manufacturer-specified type of fluid, then check lever feel, leaks and operation. Standard fluid is included. Hose replacement, damaged seals, leaking components, pads and rotors are extra; bleeding alone cannot repair a faulty component.

For BOTH front and rear hydraulic brakes. Bleed with the manufacturer-specified type of fluid, then check lever feel, leaks and operation. Standard fluid is included. Hose replacement, damaged seals, leaking components, pads and rotors are extra; bleeding alone cannot repair a faulty component.
Identify and fit a compatible replacement derailleur hanger, check its alignment and adjust and test shifting. Labour and the replacement hanger are agreed before work. Frame damage, a damaged derailleur or further repairs are separate.
Check and correct a serviceable derailleur hanger with an alignment tool, then check shifting. A cracked or unsuitable hanger needs replacement at extra cost.
Remove the cranks and existing bottom bracket as required, fit a compatible replacement, reassemble and check operation. Bottom bracket and other parts extra. We confirm the fitting type first; press-fit, seized or damaged fittings and any specialist work are quoted before starting.
SILCA hot-wax conversion — existing oiled chain and drivetrain
Assess chain wear, remove oil contamination from the suitable chain and drivetrain, then hot-wax and refit the chain. Worn components and replacement links extra.
Access the headset, clean and grease serviceable bearing surfaces as appropriate, then reassemble and adjust steering. Worn sealed cartridge bearings usually require replacement rather than a bearing overhaul; replacement bearings and parts are extra. Integrated cable or hose routing may require separately quoted access work.
Labour for the front hub: inspect, clean and lubricate serviceable bearings, then reassemble and check adjustment. Worn sealed cartridge bearings may need replacement. Replacement bearings and parts, specialist hubs and motor-hub work are quoted separately.
Labour for the rear hub: inspect, clean and lubricate serviceable bearings, then reassemble and check adjustment. Worn sealed cartridge bearings may need replacement. Parts, separate freehub work, internal hub-gear servicing and motor-hub work are not included.
A light check for a recently assembled bicycle after its first use: fasteners, wheel security, tyres and minor brake and gear adjustments. This is suitable for a clean bike needing settling-in adjustments. Eligibility depends on its actual condition, not simply whether it has been serviced before. Cleaning, wear repairs and replacement parts are separate; a fuller service is agreed if needed.
Fit a compatible dropper post or replace its control cable and housing as agreed, then check insertion limits, saddle security, remote operation and return. Quote depends on the work and routing; post, remote, cable, housing and fittings extra. Internal access is included in the agreed quote where needed. Internal cartridge rebuilds and suspension servicing are excluded.
Additional labour only when an e-bike’s motor, guards, wiring or other fittings make the agreed mechanical repair more involved. Agreed beforehand; electrical diagnostics are excluded.
For suitable repairs at your home or another agreed address. Parts and any travel charge are extra and agreed beforehand. We will confirm whether your repair is suitable for a mobile visit.
Collection & return
Scheduled-day collection and return: £10 up to 3 road miles, £15 over 3–5 road miles and £25 over 5–10 road miles from our base. Beyond 10 miles or separately timed trips are quoted individually. The fee includes both collection and return, charged once per address/booking. Additional bikes travelling together are included where van capacity allows. Dates, time windows and the final charge are agreed before booking.
Workshop servicing and repairs are charged separately. No customer visits or drop-offs at the workshop.
